People need dialysis when their kidneys stop working and no longer are able to filter toxins out of the blood. People receiving haemodialysis generally need treatment three times a week for five hours each session.
We provide Haemodialysis at:
- The Purple House in Alice Springs
- Walungurru (Kintore)
- Ntaria (Hermannsburg)
- Warburton (WA)
- Kiwirrkurra (WA)
- Ltyentye Apurte (Santa Teresa)
We offer people respite from mainstream dialysis centres, dialysis on community to allow them to spend time with their families and provide support for people who want to learn self-care dialysis.
For people who are struggling to attend their dialysis, take their tablets or stick to their fluid restrictions, spending some time dialysing at the Purple House where they feel comfortable may help. Having the opportunity to spend time back at home also encourages people to look after themselves and stay well!
